Chelsea signed Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata few days ago Once  again they have outfoxed Manchester United in the transfer market.
It has been fun watching Manchester United fans flip their perspectives on Romelu Lukaku. While the club were more heavily linked to Alvaro Morata the United fans were out on Twitter deriding the Belgian’s first touch and ability as a top-level player. Then came the flip-flops as Lukaku ended up at Old Trafford for a record sum.

Now Chelsea are proving themselves to be the masters of transfer market once again. They happily let Lukaku lumber off to Manchester while they turned their attention to the more finessed player.
SkySports and others are reporting that Alvaro Morata is set join Chelsea for around £58million and £12million add ons(to be paid if certain conditions in the contract are met). They are getting the better player for a smaller fee. This is the second time in this window that Chelsea have got the better of Jose Mourinho’s side.

Chelsea got ahead of their Premier League rivals to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. Add to that Morata and German international center back Antonio Rudiger and it is a fantastic transfer window for the Blues.

The title winners have not rested on their laurels and have made smart, young purchases. It would have been a tall task for Conte’s aging side to repeat as champions next year. But the injection of youth and energy cements their place as next season’s Premier League favorites. Especially as nearest challengers Spurs have been slow to make crucial additions. If Manchester United were to lose either Ander Herrera to Barcelona or David de Gea to Real Madrid they could well see themselves slipping back from last season’s disappointing sixth place.
